Drake

Sir Francis Drake. Elizabethan fighting sailor, navigator, and explorer. Veteran of numerous scraps with the Spanish, plundering the plundered of the Americas. First Englishman to see the Pacific Ocean, during an raid on Panama involving a land crossing, and subsequently the first English commander to sail around the world (1577-80), leading only the second circumnavigation in history. 
Not one to lightly abandon a bowling game, allegedly. A leading commander in the fleet that fought off the Spanish Armada in 1588. Known by his enemies as 'Draco', the dragon.
