Talismans of the Knights Templar by dashinvaine Talismans of the Knights Templar by dashinvaine
This is what the finished products made from my designs for the 'Talismans of the Knights Templar' jewellery range from Eastgate Resource. Inspired either by authentic Templar symbolism or on the myths that have been associated with the Order since its demise.

It's a sort of club, a society with secrets and rituals and strange costumes, supposedly to do with advancing brotherhood and morality, using symbolism mostly related to Solomon's Temple and the building thereof. Their origins seem to go back to late medieval Scotland, and some have tried to connect them to fugitive Knights Templar, who escaped there when the Order of the Temple was abolished and tried for heresy in Europe, in 1307-12. This is all rather speculative, this Templar connection, but certain branches or 'rites' of Freemasonry use Templar imagery and call themselves Templar. There was a revival in interest in the Templars in the 1700s.

Who, the Templars? They were good, but they were smeared by the King of France who wanted to take their lands.
