Didn't have anything too specific in mind. Armour is basically early 15th century. Around the time of Henry IV. The arms of Joinville of Champagne (with the red lion) and Beauchamp of Warwick (red with yellow crosses) feature .
This is amazing, better than I could do by a longshot. However I cannot help but feel as if something is a little bit off perspectivewise. It could be thickness the dividing barrier and it's wooden planking. I would also put a little more contrast between the defeated knight's clothing and his horse's. but i love it it's fantastic ^^
I'm sorry for only faving a few deviations of yours, and not commenting them, but I've been away for long and now I'm trying to keep up with everyone's new updates... Sorry again, because your art is just awesome and I'd like to comment on most of your drawings and paitings, but I can't..
I can almost hear the gasps of the crowd, as they are that animated in their interaction with the event. A splendid scene and so richly coloured. I like how you solved what to put in the right hand space - it works well. Excellent work.
I was wondering if I could tell Gilbert! magazine about you; Dale Alquist would be delighted to have you paint one of the covers, mabey showing Chesterton in oversized armor jousting with the "demon of modernism", or some such similar foe.
Looks like you worked really hard on this one, and its nice to see such a defined piece come out of it. Great posing and detail here (did you reference the foreground pose, for example? its a great bit of foreshortning). This turned out really cool, all around. Nice colors, I know you're big on coreect costumes and such, and the background is very nice, including those trees, which I am envious of. Bravo.
Haha, niice, he got it square on the torso. Which puzzles me, where is his jousting armour, arent they suppose to wear a reinforced set of plates on the cuirass, the arms, and on the head? And BTW, the spactators look awesome\ funny, especially the leftmost herald who seems to be squeamish and the angry peasant slamming his fist on the rail. This is real nice indeed
