Artist's Comments

Another chance to enjoy Dragon and Captive. Except this time I've attempted to fix the value problem which was making the wing seem to blend in with the mountains behind. I've darkened the edges of the wing and lightened the background a bit.

Love it a lot but what I wanted most to say, even if sounds silly, is : what incredibly lovely little feet!
So sweet!

Lovely piece, but I cant see so much difference from the old one. But it`s a lovely painting. :) How big is it?

Just curious again, I`m searching after a good art school in England. And I`m just wondering wich college/university is the best (you`re from England right?). I heard about Cambridge but is it good?

Excellent stuff. I love the flattened knight.

Wonderful, dragons definitely prefer blondes!

Looks wonderful - the colors are really unusual, but work well together.

There's not much in England, as far as I know, in terms of traditional art. Modernism's taken over all the academies, even the RA's dominated by abstractionists. A most deplorable state of affairs. If you want to train in classical realism, you're better off looking for somewhere in America (eg. The Granc Central Academy of Art) or Italy (eg. Angel Academy of Art).

If you find out differently, let me know. To pursue realist drawing and painting you're best to study 'illustration' rather than 'fine art'. 'Modern' artists take a dim view of any art that involves skill and craft, and you don't want to be turned into a conceptual poseur.

Thats to bad that the modernismen is taking over. I cant completly understand the "happenings", "installations" and the "abstractions" the artists make. some of them looks crap!

It really depresses me what gets held up as fine art in this country these days. 100 years ago it was a golden age for people with our sort of taste. It's an artistic dark age now, a wildeness of crap.
