Quite a transformation! She seemed frail in the first version, but had a lovely delicate appearance which I think carries an emotive quality and touches the viewer. In this reviewed version, it's as though she has benefitted from a few square meals and has a healthy glow about her. It's a more striking composition, richer for the added colour and there is still an emotional intensity through her expression. Very lovely indeed.
