Apprentice Pillar by dashinvaine Apprentice Pillar by dashinvaine
The so-called Apprentice Pillar in Rosslyn Chapel, Scotland, where I went last August. Very fascinating place. I may update my stock account with some more photos soon, now that I am once again able.

This photo has been sitting in my camera since then, since my PicturePoject thing packed up. I've just figured out a way of getting photos through rigging the printer up to the PC, so here we are, the first of many, possibly.

As I should be practicing my Latin:
Columnen discipuli sic hic nomen in Rosslyn sacello in Caledonio. ubi in menis Augustus postremus visi. Locus delenirimus. Mox potest stirps expositio mia cum plus picturis renovabo, nunc potero.

Wow, that's some impressive and beautiful stonework. I'd like to see more like this. =) And I just had to throw out a floor lamp just like that one when it blew up and threatened an electrical fire.

PAX TIBISCUM!!!

Sorry for my Latin...I only took two years, and haven't practiced for 2 years already +D.

inquimus in Latino malo possumus! latin pro .v. mensis discebam. Me miseram! vescebaris-ne liber cum muluo et discipulo monachorum Paulus?

Pro .v. mensis? Meus Deus! Latine tuus est melior quam meus! Latine non est lingua facilis...praesertim si lingua romantica non scies. Scio Portuguese et paucus French et Spanish, tamen puto latine est dificilis . +D

I got lost in your the last sentence LOL.

Do you ask if I enjoy/like the child with the mule and the follower of the monks..Paul? I completely forgot a lot of rules, so I may have completely translated it wrong. +D

I was trying to ask if you used the book (Beginners Latin) with the mule and Paul the novice monk...

O no, I learned from a book called First Year Latin by Jenney, with some really funny stories, such as of this man who befriends a lion after he takes out a splinter from one of his paws...+D You think something tragic will happen, like it is the case for most of the other stories, but it is otherwise.

I didn't continue with Latin because my high school just dropped the course, since only a very few enrolled to take it...but I missed it...I was actually doing pretty well, getting medals and all for the national tests, etc, etc...but it was good while it lasted...

Wasn't that St Jerome who befriended a lion?

Beautiful pillar, and wonderful image.

My latin is quite rusty. I can pick up bits here and there, but alas, not all of it.

Thank you for sharing this!
